I don't usually post on Thursdays, but I heard today was International Dot Day and I couldn't resist. The Dot by Peter Reynolds is one of my favourite picture books.
To celebrate, I made my own dot:
For more about this book, check out Peter Reynold's website.
Do you have any creative dot ideas? Hmm...cupcakes with dots on them would be good, too.
Guess what? I just asked an agent for picture book recommendations at a conference this weekend (it was after a pitch session and we were chatting about our kids), and she mentioned this one!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with it, but I will say: your dot looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea today was dot day and I have not read this book yet. My kids are way beyond the picture book age and I haven't taught for over 10 years, so I am out of the picture book loop.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't read it, you should check it out. The book is about not giving up and practicing and trying so creativity can bloom! (Sound familiar?)
ReplyDeleteThat is a weird coincidence, Jess!
Matt, you made me laugh. This was the first time I ever tried to make something using Paint on my computer. Actually, it was kind of fun (especially when I was supposed to be working on revisions).
Dot Day...that's awesome! Your dot reminds me of an eyeball. :)
