I'm so glad you stopped by.
I love reading and writing children's books! So far, my favourite books to write are picture books and middle grade novels. I'm actively pursuing traditional publication.
I've also written 20 early readers for children learning English, published in South Korea, as well as a beginning reader for Scholastic Canada's The Literacy Place. As a former kindergarten teacher now teaching grade 1, I love to think about ways to get kids excited about reading and writing!!
When I'm not writing or teaching, I experiment with art materials, invent new recipes, explore nature, and challenge myself with board games.
I'm a member of SCBWI and the 12 x 12 Picture Book Challenge. I regularly take writing workshops to strengthen my writing skills. Inquiries about my writing may be directed to my agent, Janine Le.
I love to chat about writing, children's books and how to use books in the classroom. Places where you can find my book reviews and teaching ideas for books:

If you'd like your traditionally published, print book considered for review, please send me an email. I donate physical review copies to local schools or libraries.
A few random facts about me:
Now I live near Toronto, but I grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where I spent hours climbing trees and hiking in the woods. If I meet an insect, I'm more likely to study it to see what it's doing than to scream.
One of the things on my personal "bucket list" was to visit the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and I did it!! (Now I want to go back.) I've also been to Kauii.
Before I became a teacher, I was a freelance editor, a curriculum writer and a children's reading researcher.
My favourite snack is salt & vinegar chips.
This is my dog! His name is not Lassie.
