Yay, September! Good things come in the fall. Crisp new apples. Colourful leaves. New things to learn. September has always energized me. Probably because it's always been the start of a new school year, either for me or my children. This year, though, I'm dragging my feet a bit. I don't want to let go of the lazy, relaxed days of summer. So, to kick off September, I'm setting some autumn goals:
1. Finish query letter and send out queries for novel #2, The Ethan Project.
2. Finish my revision of novel #4, and think up a title for it.
I'm keeping it simple. If I have too many goals to focus on, I accomplish nothing. Anyway, now that I've blogged about it, I'll have to stick to it. How do you feel about the fall? What do you think you'll accomplish?
I love all these posts about fall goals this AM...for me, I have to finish two projects in the next two months...BIG projects. So that is my focus!
ReplyDeleteI've got things to finish this September. Hopefully October will be the month for re-starting some research!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to revise an old MS. And stew about a new project for October. Good luck with your goals -- they sound totally achievable!
ReplyDeleteI'm rewriting my current WIP. I love September, too. In fact, I love the fall in general.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals. Titles can be tricky. I haven't named my new project yet.
Thanks for the good wishes - sending 'em right back at you! Wouldn't it be cool if we all got a project finished up by the end of September?
ReplyDeleteElana, I think for me the trick to achieving a goal is making it something it's possible to do within the time period, otherwise I just end up with a longer list than I started with. Though sometimes it's hard to be patient when I have new ideas sprouting up all the time.
Dawn, this is the first time I've had trouble with a title. I wonder why?
I'm going to plow though my revisions!
ReplyDeleteI've been revising and plotting a different novel. I have no idea how long either will take. ;)
ReplyDeleteHolly, we'll have to keep each other posted on our progress.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Laura, sometimes I have no clue how long it will take to accomplish something. And the way September is shaping up in my life, it may be that my September goals spill over into October (we have to be flexible, right?). It's interesting that you're revising and plotting a new novel at the same time.
